What is Strike A Chord?
Imagine a world where every person has the chance to grasp an instrument, to feel the magic of creating music. That's the vision driving our event. Many children and adults, especially in underserved communities, go through life without ever touching a musical instrument, let alone mastering one. Strike A Chord seeks to bridge this gap by providing these individuals with the tools they need to express themselves and ignite a lifelong passion for music!
Together, we'll create an atmosphere of joy and creativity, underscored by the laughter and excitement of volunteers and future musicians alike. This event isn't just about giving—it's about connecting, learning, and sharing the universal language of music. By the end of the day, not only will you have helped provide essential resources, but you'll also leave with a deeper understanding of how a single note can resonate through a individual’s life, creating ripples of endless possibilities.
After a keynote presentation, we will provide all the supplies needed to build a ukulele that will be donated to individuals engaging in music therapy. But it doesn't end there – you will add a personal touch by decorating the ukuleles as well as writing heartfelt letters to the recipients. This ensures a connection beyond the physical gift, fostering a sense of encouragement and support for these individuals.
